My child is *very* prone to cold and asthmatic.
We always use a hair dryer to dry her hair after showers. It's not for any styling purpose or else.
Would the use of the dryer be harmful for her hair?
Thank you for your time.
Is using hair dryer regularly harmul for the hair?
Nope. Not if you use it properly. Wrap your daughter's hair in a towel for 10 minutes or so. The dryer doesn't have to be on high but warm is perfect. Keep the dryer moving and don't hold it on one spot. You don't want to cause hot spots on the hair or scalp. Leave in conditioner or a thermal protectant is always in good form because it shields the hair. If the dryer is too hot and held in one spot, it can cause the cuticle to open. If you do this too much, you can cause breakage and frizziness. However, if you use the leave in conditioner - Biolage by Matrix has a great one that takes the tiniest little bit - and keep the dryer moving - don't let it sit on one spot, you should see no change in the condition of your daugter's hair.

Is using hair dryer regularly harmul for the hair?
no, so long as the dryer is not too hot for the child. I've been using the hair dryer for many decades, my hair texture is still unchanged
Is using hair dryer regularly harmul for the hair?
Yeah!!!!!! It drys the oils out! How old is she? You should be around 15 to start using it!
Towel dry it or turn on the fan in a room and have her sit and wait or walk arround.
Or get a dryer with settings of hot/ cold and always keep it on cold.

it toatally destroys ur hair, it is like putting your hair on a frying pan. try getting a damage control conditioner so it isnt as bad.
Is using hair dryer regularly harmul for the hair?
It depends on her mannar of usage.
Higher heat focused on the hair can cause damage to the cuticle. Rapid drying of the scalp may lead to irritation.
Also there can be issues around residue left on the head from shampoo or conditioner.
Being that she is autistic, I am suprised that the loud noise isn't disturbing to her.
I would suggest that you towell dry her head first. And that you keep the blower at least 12 inches away from her hair and use a brush to distribute the heat.
Having wet hair after a shower may cause the body to work a little bit harder to warm up. This has been linked to increased proness to viral infection from those already present in the body due to the idea that when the body needs to work harder to stay warm, other areas such as immunity are weakened.
I do not believe this to be true. It would be like saying that when we run around the track we are more likely to get sick because of all the energy we are using to run.
The body generates heat through muscle use so staying warm is acheived in the same mannar.
I think that my resiliance to the cold and to sickness is a result of mental fortitude, and from growing up in the coldest room in an extrememly old house.
The down side is that I have very low tolerance to summer's heat and especially humidity.
Just keep in mind that you transfer your beliefs through emulation. If you pass on the idea that cold will lead to sick, then it may become true for her. Not to say it is wrong.
It just is what it is.
The options for belief are limitless, and may be presented as multiple choices with different outcomes.
