If it is causing the whole house to go dark, you have a problem in your breaker box. It it's just causing one breaker to go out, you have a hair dryer that is drawing too much current for that breaker. Replace the hair dryer. If the problem continues, you need an electrician to replace that circuit breaker.
Another thing you can do is disconnect other appliances from that set of circuits. Maybe the hair dryer combined with a coffee pot and space heater is just too much.

Call an electrician, that's probably a fire hazard. While he's there have him look at your electrical panel and tell you if he thinks it's adequate for your household or it just basically needs to be replaced because of age.

Switch to a lower wattage hair dryer. It is drawing too many watts/amps for the current circuit. Otherwise, you need some electrical work done to upgrade your outlets.

Is it blowing just one leg (FUSE) of the incoming service line? If so the fuse box is probably unbalanced draw (meaning more large draw circuits on one side than other), several other suggestion have been made about switching outlets, turning off other large draw items. One other suggestion clean the air inflow screen on the hair dryer, stoppage will cause overheating and more power consumption
