Yes, in deed. Years ago your mother or your mother's mother used a hair dryer. A hair dryer is used when a woman put her hair in curlers and sat under a hair dryer to dry her hair. It was a larg egg shaped half shell with holes in it to allow hot air to pass threw to dry her hair. The base of the machine was a large blower and heater coil that was behind her with a tube leading to the egg shell.

A hair blower is the modern hand held version of the hair dryer that blows air with a force to dry your hair.
