Hair dryer and diffuser ??

i have curly/straight hair....i have been told to use a diffuser to make this combination of hair look great. but i dont know how to use this diffuser i got..i know how to attach it to a hair dryer, but how do i blow dry my hair with it? do i blow dry downwards or upwards...from the top or bottom.....im so sadly confused.

I have a diffuser. You blow dry hair from top to bottom like a regular blow dryer. Also, you're supposed to hold the dryer about six inches away from the head while using it. I wouldn't touch the hair too much as you blow dry to eliminate frizz.
