Can I Use a Hair Dryer with a 250 v Setting in a 220 v Plug?

I'm going to France and have a travel hair dryer with a switch that goes from 120 volts (for American electrical systems) to 250 volts. I understand the voltage in France is 220 volts. With the right plug adapter, will this hair dryer work? I don't want to electrocute myself, nor burn out the hair dryer, nor be left with wet hair!

You should have no problem. Just make sure you have the switch in the correct position when you turn it on! I've done this type thing with other small appliances in the past and everything worked well.

Yes you can! if the plug won't fit just buy a travel set. walmart has them so as radio shack. I do it all the time if I travel to Germany. They have 220V over there. Report It

i'm not quite sure but i think it'll probably not work. you're hairdryer needs 250volts but the outlet is only providing 220v. if anything you'll cause a fuse. i've been to france and none of my adapters fit theirs, so i asked the hotel to borrow their blowdryer... wasn't mine, but at least it worked!
