Why is it that heat from weather wont melt off glue from car decals, but a hair dryer will?

why is it that heat from weather wont melt off glue from car decals, but a hair dryer will? i heard from several people that hair dryers will help take decals off a car window or paint, but why wont hot temperatures during the summer or something cause them to peel too?

The heat from the sun heats the entire area up at the same time. A hair dryer, or heat gun that is used directs the heat to specifically the decal and the metal underneath, making the glue holding the decal on loosen its grip.

Hair dryer has a higher temperature.

The hair drier is much hotter, and is specific to the spot. the weather dispurses the heat over the whole vehicle, not a central spot where the hair dryer is.

the sun might get the part up to 200 degrees in the hot summer day on a dark colored car.. being dark colora get hotter lite colors.. where a hair dryer can get above 450 degrees.. ..i have seen some get around 1000 degrees.. so simple they just get hotter.. they make a spray that will not damage the paint like a hair dryer can . it is about $19.00 a can and it takes the right off.. works great . i use it all the time 3m part # 08908 it is made for woodgrain decals and pin strips . but there other companies make it can be found in most autoparts stores that sale auto paint supplies . they carry a cheeper brand most of the time if the 3m brand it to costly. but make sure to read and follow the directions before /when using .
