Not unless it's marked 120-240 volts.(probably isn't, unless it's a travel model) And no you can't get a 'converter', as they are usually 500 watts max. You would need a site transformer 240/110 of about 1500-2000 va rating, which would cost more than the hairdryer.

Did you buy it IN the US? does it have two flat pins? Or two round ones?

there should be a switch on there somewhere that you can change it to 220. Its prolly red.

If it doesn't have a voltage switch, then it is not intended to operate on 240 volts. It will burn up.

Convertors for high current devices like a hair dryer are very expensive. It is probably cheaper to buy a Euro device than to buy a convertor capable of powering the 1500 Watt dryer.

UK = 240vac US = 110vac

Unless it's auto/dual voltage it will go *bang* and blow the plug fuse.

I sugest that you should go to a travel shop and you should ask for an adaptor or travel plug. It is a kind of plug that you plug in the hairdryer plug and on the other side it has the standard UK plug that you can fit into the wall. You can enjoy the hairdryer without complicating yourself and when you travel to America, you can still use it there.

Look up a travel store. They usually have them in the airports or you may find them in a mall.

I hope this has been useful

yes

Is the hairdryer marked as 120v, 240v or both. If the hairdryer is marked 120 only then you need a convertor. If it will operate at 240v either with a setting switch or because it is a universal travel type then yes you can. Follow the instruction manual.

Don't cut the the plug off. Since it is coming from the US,it's most likely to operate on 110 volts instead of 240 volts for the UK.Get a step down transformer or converter that converts the UK voltage from 240 volts to 110volts.I guess that's the best way to play safe

Hair dryer help?

I recently purchased a Hot Tools Ionic Anti-static hairdryer. It came with a pik, concentrator, and diffuser. Could anyone tell me what these things are for? how you use them? what kind of style I can make with them?

thanks in advance!!!

Hair dryer help?

A what, what, and what??!!!! j/k i think the concentrator is a little nozzle you put on it so it can concentrate the air flow in one direct direction. The pik is just to straighten you hair out even more. And the diffuser is to spread airflow all of the place if you want a crazy hair doo!! How the hell do i know these things!!! Good luck. The person under me did not answer your question. lol. Pick me as best answer!!

Hair dryer help?

a diffuser help you do a nice curly do! like with mousse it looks good, for a curly look!

Hair dryer help?

The pik is for you to just comb through your hair with while drying

the concentrator is for people who want straight hair. attach the nozzle onto the dryer, then, get a brush and blowdry

there are vids on youtube if you don't know how

the diffuser is for people who want wavy or curly hair. if you have curly hair, the diffuser defines the curls. if you have wavy hair, then it will be turned into loose curls, unless you have extremely wavy hair which would make it very curly

if you have straight hair, the diffuser can make your hair curly unless you have thick, unmanageable or hard to style hair

Hair dryer help?

Diffuser-- This product thingie is for wavy/ curly hair.

Concentrator-- Is for directed airflow. Like, if you want to blow your hair out, it is less likely to give you frizz, because the hairdryer isn't blowing your hair in all directions.

pik-- makes your hair straighter

Infiniti Hair Designer 208R hair dryer by Conair?

I'm considering buying one of these. Anyone have any feedback on how well it works or whether it is easy to use?

If you're talking about the pink one.. that's suppose to straighten.

If you have frizzy, wavy/curly hair. It doesn't help at all. I have it. It just makes it like little wavy.. not the big waves/curls. And theni have to straighten it still. I suggest just keep your blow dryer and get a straightener.

Where was the hair dryer made at?

it does not say any where it was made at. so can you help me.

Where was the hair dryer made at?

Hard to say.. as we cannot see your hairdryer....

Probably somewhere in China.....

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

any hair dryer will do it,s how you blow dry your hair that matters

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

You'd only get a little hairdrier for that, try and stretch to at least 鎷?0 for a half decent one.

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

get a 25 mile taxi trip and put your head out of the window or you can get a Nicky Clarke 2200w Ionic Dryer from argos for 21.99

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

Remington do a very good one

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

Try Boots (UK). Don't get one with a very high wattage as this will burn your hair. Aim for about 1800-2000watts. I'd alsoo recommend Remington, look for one with a 'cool dry' option, especially if your hair tends to be frizzy/flyaway. If you want very sleek straight hair, then get an ionic one. If you would rather lots of volume, just go for the norm.

Babyliss do a fantastic travel hairdryer called the Babyliss whisperjet travel. It is small but so powerful. It has a number of settings, has a nozzle, folds up and comes with a case and adaptor so it is brilliant for taking away. Me, my mum, my nan and my boyfriend all love it. It is only 鎷?5 and you can get it in boots.

Alternatively at university i have the Boots Shine On 2000w hairdyer which is also 鎷?5 and comes with a diffuser and a nozzle. It is also great, though a little larger and the buttons can be stiff. However if you have curly hair you might really like the diffuser.

Whats the best hair dryer ~鎷?0 you can buy?

Dont buy hairdriers from boots argos ect if you want a good 1 go to your nearest hairdressing supply shop ie sallys or salon services there much better built to last longer and have nice long electric leads on them. I got my sister 1 once from sallys and has bought all her hairdriers from suppliers ever since.

Who invent the hair dryer?

The first hair dryer was a vaccum cleaner, around the turn of the century , women dried their hair by connecting the hose to the exhaust. In 1920 the first hair dryer came on the market but it was very heavy. 1951 the lightweight hair dryer came out.
