Could I still use my hair dryer (please help)??

I was drying my hair and thanks to my butterfingers I dropped the hair dryer in the toilet!! I know, stupid stupid move.... Anyways I was wondering if I could still use it or if I should just toss it out... the dryer was off when it dropped in the toilet and there was no electrical activity going on while it was in contact with the toilet water. Now I'm scared to test it out and turn it on to see if it still works (I don't want to get electrocuted to death). What should i do?? Should I test it out when the unit is completely dry, or do I have to get a new hair dryer??

water is not the bad culprit people think it is when it comes to electronics and electrical things. Let the dryer dry thoroughly out once it's dried out it should work just fine. Problems arise when things sit in water, bearing get water in them and all water is not the same actually water is an insulator, it only is bad with electrical stuff because of the impurities and minerals in it. To thoroughly protect yourself make sure its plugged into a ground fault protector receptacle in most bathrooms just in case it actual was physically damaged by the drop.

I would reccomend you toss it out and get a new one, just to be on the safe side. It wont work proporly after you dropped it especially after you dropped it down the loo lmao x

don't use it. it can get corrosion in the electrical contacts and cause a short circuit. not worth the risk
